2013 Data Users Science Symposium

Beckman Institute Auditorium

MISR Data Users Science Symposium
December 16-17, 2013

Beckman Institute Auditorium
California Institute of Technology
Pasadena, CA

Meeting purpose: The 2-day MISR Data Users Science Symposium provides the opportunity to showcase science results and to interact with other members of the community. The format will include oral presentations, posters, and interactive discussions. The topics of interest include multiangular radiometric, stereoscopic, and polarimetric imaging, science applications, data analysis, and modeling. The meeting is an opportunity to showcase science results and to interact with other members of the MISR user community. The format will include oral presentations, posters, and interactive discussions. As we now have Multiangle SpectroPolarimetric Imager (GroundMSPI and AirMSPI) prototype cameras operating as testbeds for MISR follow-on instruments, talks related to these instruments are welcome as well.

Presentations: Oral and/or poster presentations related to MISR and successor instruments are welcome. Please check the appropriate boxes on the registration form and provide approximate titles. Bring oral talks on a USB memory stick or CD-ROM in either Powerpoint or PDF format. All slides will be loaded onto a Mac for presentation, so please see Dave Diner at the meeting well in advance of your talk to have it loaded. If you have equations, PDF is recommended to avoid PC to Mac issues. Poster dimensions up to 4' x 6' are acceptable.

Agenda: An updated agenda is posted here (PDF, 50 KB) - updated 12/11/2013.

Alcoholic beverages and sodas will be available at a cash bar. After dinner, research pilots Stu Broce and Dean Neeley will regale us with photos, videos, and their experiences flying NASA's high-altitude ER-2 aircraft at the edge of space. The ER-2 carried AirMSPI on several field campaigns in 2013. The cost per person is $37 ($32 for students and postdocs). Guests are welcome. Please include the number in your party who will be attending the social event (including yourself) on your registration form. Please sign up for the social event by Friday, December 6 so that we can get an accurate head count.
