Biography:
Yang Liu received his M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from University of California at Davis in 1999, and his Ph.D. degree in environmental science from Harvard University in 2004. He joined the Department of Environmental Health at Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University in 2009 as an Assistant Professor. His research interests include the applications of satellite remote sensing data in air quality modeling and environmental health studies; development of spatial statistical models for air pollution exposure estimation; and climate-related vulnerabilities and health impact assessments. He has been a MISR science team member since 2008 focusing on using MISR aerosol data products to characterize both long-term and short-term fine particulate matter (PM2.5) levels worldwide. He is also responsible for promoting MISR data in air quality modeling and public health research communities.
