Biography:

Roger Davies received the B.Sc degree with honors in physics from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand in 1970 and the Ph.D. in meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1976. He is the Buckley-Glavish Professor of Climate Physics at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. He was previously employed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and was a formerly on the faculties of the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona; Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana; and McGill University, Montreal, Canada. His main area of research is the interaction of cloud heterogeneity with atmospheric radiation. Dr. Davies is a member of the International Radiation Commission.
